Closed: Mon. May 8, Wed May 24, Mon. June 5

In the collection exhibition room of the Yokosuka Museum of Art, we will introduce works by René Lalique from the collection of the Hakone Lalique Museum.

With the keyword “Art Connecting Mountains and the Sea,” Yokosuka Museum of Art in the eastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture and Lalique Museum Hakone in the western part will collaborate to launch a new program to showcase the charm of each other through the display of masterpieces from the two museums’ collections.

In 2023, the first part of this program will be an exhibition of works by René Lalique from the collection of Lalique Museum Hakone in the collection gallery of Yokosuka Museum of Art. The exhibition, entitled Prayer for Tomorrow: René Lalique and the Age of War, presents 70 items including medals produced for charitable purposes and related materials to focus on activities for people living through the hardships such as war orphans of World War I in France. We invite you to appreciate the unknown achievements of René Lalique, a pioneer in glasswork.
